Varied conductivity of graphite by factor 10 up and down - field error is
fully linear with the conductivity.
Specify that dump block conductivity should not be higher than 1e5.
Does conductivity change with dose? RC will check this.
Would be good to launch 3D model of field to see geometric effects, and then
eddy currents. BB will check this.
Also possible to look at results from similar MedAustron magnet - JB Could
present this soon.
Data from present 2D simulations to be sent to CC for simulations - JB/BB.
- BI.DIS triggering and interlocking (Slides BG)
Will get a pre-injection warning (ms timing) 200-300 ms before injection.
This should start PFN charging (capacitor PS). Linac4 timing system will
then send 5 pre-pulses (fast ns timing), one per DIS ring. An 'interlock'
check signal some 5 ms before injection can be used to check PFN voltages &
state. If pre-pulses come within 6-7 ms of the 'interlock check' event, the
DIS rings are triggered. An internal re-triggering system should fire each
ring at 100 us intervals, after FIRST trigger received. Need to check the
re-triggering use cases to make sure no problems. Should make sure the fast
timing signals come from the SAME source as the chopper. DIS will supply one
interlock signal - this can maybe be masked on a ring-by-ring basis, if the
kicker is OFF.
BG/WW/EC/BM will prepare a specification for the DIS triggering and
interlocking for distribution.
