22 March-2010
Present: C. Bracco, G. Bellodi, E. Carlier, C. Carli, B.
Cheymol, B. Goddard, L. Sermeus, B.
Mikulec, F. Roncarolo, J.
Borburgh, B. Balhan, R. Chamizo, W. Weterings
- Follow up previous meetings - See
List of Outstanding Issues
LS mentioned that the KSW specification should be added to the
list.
- Specified beam size in the injection region at 160 MeV.
GB presented the
Beam size at the BI.DIS and BI.SMV taking into account a 5%
quadrupole error, simulated by M. Eshraqi. For the simulations,
D = -1.4 ± 0.4 was used which is the most unfavorable case.
Nevertheless, it was agreed that all optics should be calculated
for the full tuning range. The values presented for the BI.DIS
are well within limits, the values for the BI.SMV are more
tight, but it needs to be checked if these assume full or half
aperture dimensions.
- Remarks received on drafts of specifications for the H0/H- dump and
current monitor.
See attached files of
remarks on specification
H0-dump
and
remarks on specification of current monitor.
The specifications will be updated with relevant comments and
prepared for approval.
BC showed some thought of a
brainstorming session on the current monitor showing that
carbon would give less secondary emission but a thicker plate
than titanium is required. Copper would require a very thin
plate, but has higher secondary emission than titanium.
Therefore titanium is the best candidate. JB mentioned
that for these very thin plates (50µm) one
does not have to worry about electrical conductivities
nor B field disturbance. The idea of testing a similar system in
front of the 12MeV dump at the L4 test bench was mentioned.
- A.O.B
The requirements for the Head and Tail Dump need to be fixed.
